PHOTO ESSAY Flora of The San Luis Valley, CO

A moonset over the vast grasslands, the fragrant sagebrush, and little prairie dogs peeking up over their earth mounds. Come along on an early morning walk as the dew lay low and the first rays of sun crawl over the mountain tops to touch the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado.

Spot amongst others Apache Plume, Arroweed, Black-eyed Susan, Pepperweed, Mugwort, and abundant climbing Western White Clematis, also called Old Man’s Beard.
